Ok, now I recognize I'm a little biased in this realm, but I just gotta say-- everyone should have a little Jasper Jon-es. Why, you ask? Well, for one thing, they are the best way to know you are loved.
My little beebee (it's one of his nicknames) without fail follows me to the bathroom in the morning, and is waiting outside the door when I finish my shower. I love it. Feelin' the love early in the morning, just before facing another day of work. Nice. Jasper also likes to sleep on my bed, particularly appreciated during those cold winter months. You could say he's a bit of an insta-heater. And, well, I'm constantly on the colder end of things. So, a little transportable heater works just peachily keen for me.
Now granted, Jasper also has two other mothers here (and, thus, will likely experience shock when I move). Yes, you could say I'm his night mom. My housemate, Pam, is his day mom. And my other housemate, Brooke, watches him in the in-between times. I admit, the little 3-legged kitty* is a bit spoiled. Having a special little purr pad, though, was not me spoiling the little one. No, in fact, I have co-conspirators- people I like to call "the units" (you know who you are).
One other awesome reason why the little creature rocks. He still loves me even when I'm dirty and sweaty. I noticed little beebers would come over and want to snuggle with me even though I had just gotten back from playing Ultimate frisbee (and was on the sweatier side of things). You get used to the cat hair being all over your clothes-- for me, it's a little reminder of the Jasper love. You could say I've turned into a bit of a lover of the little Jasper Jones. It's true.
*3-legged kitty is something my sisters call Jasper.
