Let me just say- I am uber-pleased to see some new commenters, including one of the sistas (aussie annie). Brava to all of you lovelinesses! [ok, had to get that word of encouragement in]
Now...onto my real topic. The power of caffeine. Now, usually, caffeine doesn't really affect my system. It gives me a little kick, true, but there is no marked difference in moods, productivity, etc. Until today. I've been trying to wean myself off of Starbucks (there's one in the lobby of my office building, and I've become somewhat of the Starbucks addict since the start of my new job in September 2003)...so I drank tea today. Whittards Green Tea with Ginseng & lime, compliments of my dad's latest London excursion. But I must've had about 4-5 cups. And by 5pm, I was...well, rather zonked. I mean, I guess it makes a certain degree of sense. I had spent the better half of the afternoon using our uber-slow (we're talking stone age here) database. It meefed me. That combined with the relatively high tea intake left me feeling quite fatigued.
So, what's the solution? Spend $3 a pop on a Starbucks caramel macchiato? Or drink multiple cups of imported green tea? Or maybe, just cut back on the tea and incentivize productivity with those Starbucks treats. But then, wouldn't I end up using it as a daily incentive? There has to be another way....
