ah yes, I suppose a little explanation is in order here. after all, dropping off the blog planet for a week just isn't cool. i up and went to pittsburgh. yep. i learned the fine art of economic development finance at a 4-day long course (the 5th day was the exam) just outside of downtown pittsburgh. 'tis a cool town, though. a few of the highlights-- a baseball stadium in the center of town (oh, what Philadelphia could have been!), a cheesesteak place called primanti's that serves its cheesesteaks with cole slaw and french fries [supposedly, it's what the steel workers used to eat], and a fantabulous bed and breakfast- converted from an old monastery. it was schwanky mcshwanks. the downside: i missed the gilmore girls marathon hosted by helen. and i know my aquatic friend was crying about that one!
