ok, not really, but it sounded cool, didn't it? :) yes, yes, i am once again laughing at my incompetence. ok, so most of you know my apartment doesn't have a lot of light (aka I live in a cave). Why? The windows. So, this weekend, Kirsten and I took a little venture to Ikea, our favorite home design shop, and picked up some drapes. And I had a little drape-hanging party last night with a guest appearance by interior designer extraordinaire, dave (who woulda thunk it?)-- yep, just walked by the window as Kirsten was balancing herself between the ledge of the window and one of the rungs of the ladder. You might ask yourself in disbelief/skepticism-- "Dave, an interior designer? Oh, that's just Caroline being biased again. BARF!" Just to prove it, Dave suggested "honey blonde dowels" to pull back the drapes. Seriously. Even got made fun of by Kirsten for it...
So, you ask yourself, where did the incompetence arise? It's true that I did get one set of drapes up...however, i decided to "balance" the drill on the top rung of the ladder (don't try this at home) and proceeded to snag my arm on the extension cord. The drill plummetted to the ground and the drill bit went flying and managed to break in half when it hit the floor. Ah well. There is, at least, the beginnings of light in my apartment. Jasper is pleased by this prospect.
